Activated Carbon for Mercury Emissions

atlaSORB™ is Atlas Carbon’s newest halogen-free sorbent product designed specifically for the removal of mercury from coal-fired utility flue gas streams. It reacts chemically with both elemental and oxidized mercury to create a non-hazardous, non-flammable, and non-corrosive solid compound that can be captured by the plant’s particulate control system. 

atlaSORB™ preserves the plant’s fly ash for concrete and cement production, and the chemical components of atlaSORB™ can be varied to maximize the mercury capturing capability in each power generating unit. atlaSORB™is compatible with all forms of air pollution control equipment.
